Laser Spine Institute Announces Roger Cary as New CEO and President
Senior executive brings more than 30 years of health care and patient experience
December 1, 2016 (TAMPA, Fla.) – Laser Spine Institute, the leader in minimally invasive spine surgery, today welcomed Roger C. Cary, M.H.A., FACHE, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President. Cary will take over the role from David Pillsbury effective Monday, December 5.

Pillsbury joined Laser Spine Institute in July of 2015 and oversaw the operations for seven outpatient surgical facilities across the country. He also played a significant role in establishing Laser Spine Institute’s new headquarters and ambulatory surgery center in Tampa’s Avion Park. Prior to joining the company, Pillsbury was President of Championship Management and Executive Vice President of PGA Tour Tournament Business Affairs.

Cary has more than 30 years of health care experience with both hospital and outpatient providers. He has led large scale organizational transformation efforts and facility expansions, increasing operational efficiencies and improving all aspects of health care delivery to patients. Cary previously held a leadership position at Cancer Treatment Centers of America as the Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his in-depth knowledge of the ever-evolving health care landscape and outpatient industry background, Cary has been known for fostering workplace culture and collaboration. The facilities he led were routinely recognized as “Best Places to Work.”

Cary will be based at Laser Spine Institute’s headquarters in Tampa and will relocate to the Tampa Bay area with his wife. He received his Masters in Healthcare Administration and Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Loma Linda University. Cary was named a fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as board member for Vicinitas Cancer Care and Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
